‘Scarier than we initially thought’: CDC sounds warning on Zika virus
USA TODAY – 22 hours ago
The best personal defense against the Zika and West Nile Viruses is to use proper repellent when outdoors.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) notes Zika-carrying mosquitos bite during the daytime, so outdoor service technicians should always have a good supply of DEET repellent on hand.
Additionally, the CDC recommends using EPA-registered insect repellents with labels clearly stating their effectiveness against mosquitoes in general or against Aedes mosquitoes.
Correlated Products, Inc. offers an insect repellent (also available in wipes) called DEFENSE that is both EPA-registered and contains DEET.
